Payment failed due to a VoP Failure

Last updated: June 16, 2026

VoP check failure: The destination account holder does not match with the actual name. The system checked the name you entered for the recipient against the name that the bank has on file for that account, and they didn't match. Because of that the payment was stopped. This can be for both Payins (orders) and Payouts

Check for:

  • Spelling mistakes in the name

  • Allowed characters only: The name field accepts only letters, spaces, hyphens, apostrophes, and periods. Username-style strings or repeated patterns will be rejected.

  • Use of full legal name

  • If unsure ask the recipient how their name is registered with their bank

  • If you have used a fake "blanket" name: In production, the payer's legal name is required for real payments and compliance checks.

Cases where the debtors name is correct but still getting a  "VoP check failed: The destination account holder name does not match with the actual name"

your SEPA payment included the debtor’s name, but did not include any debtor address information. Under SEPA regulations, the full debtor address must be provided for compliance and anti‑financial‑crime screening. Without this mandatory information, the beneficiary bank is required to reject the payment.

To resolve this, please ensure your SEPA payment submission includes:
Debtor’s full name
Debtor’s full address

Once the debtor address is included, the payment can be re‑submitted successfully.
